Next week, many of you will be joining the Sedgwick team at the 2015 National Workers’ Compensation and Disability Conference in Las Vegas. This is always a great event with opportunities to learn and connect with our peers and thought leaders in the industry. There is an immense amount of information to take in and I suggest you start planning now to maximize your time.

I am personally looking forward to co-moderating the session “Steal These Ideas! Teddy Award-Winning Employers Share Their Successes” along with Roberto Ceniceros, Senior Editor, Risk & Insurance. This is a great opportunity to hear from some of the most experienced professionals in the industry as they share their insights into the workers’ compensation world. Roberto and I will be asking them all the questions that you want to ask so you can take their knowledge back to your company. Please join us on Thursday, November 12 from 8:30 – 9:45 a.m. for this interactive and informative session.

Another session that I encourage you to attend is “Healthcare’s Transformation and Workers’ Compensation” on Thursday, November 12 from 10:45 a.m. – 12 p.m. The panel will feature three great thought leaders – Sedgwick’s Kimberly George, SVP Corporate Development, M&A, and Healthcare; Lisa Kelly, Senior Workers’ Compensation Manager at Boeing; and Greg Moore, Harbor Health Systems’ President and CEO. They will be looking at the evolving healthcare model and how legislative developments, technology advancements and consumer needs are shaping the landscape of tomorrow.

If you are coming to town on Tuesday, November 10, you will want to attend a great pre-conference event at Mandalay Bay. The 2nd Annual Women in Workers’ Compensation Forum will take place from 2 – 6 p.m. and it will focus on how to support women in the industry in their professional development and growth.

Last, but not least, we are excited to invite you to attend our annual evening event being held on Wednesday, November 11 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. Along with our co-sponsors GENEX, Helios, MedRisk and One Call Care Management, we are going to Light Up Vegas at the Light Nightclub located in Mandalay Bay. It promises to be a great evening of entertainment. If you have not received an invitation, please stop by booth #831.

As always, to keep up with what is going on at the NWCDC, be sure to follow Sedgwick on Twitter @Sedgwick.
